Executive & Artistic Director & Senior Faculty
Kathryn Kuczka-Hawk is originally from Perrysburg, NY. She is a graduate of Forestville High School and Performing Arts Dance Academy. Kuczka-Hawk founded e.da.co Eclectic Dance Company in July 2007 after receiving her B.A. in dance and minor in communications from Slippery Rock University. During her time at SRU, she performed and choreographed in Slippery Rock University's Dance Theater and numerous other concerts including Senior Synthesis Concerts, Site Specific Tours, and Informal Showings. She was selected to perform in faculty and guest artist pieces by Melissa Teodoro and Thom Truss. Kuczka-Hawk was awarded the SRU Dance Department's Lucy Issaco Sack Summer Dance Scholarship where she spent two summers training with the Radio City Rockettes. She performed their repertoire at the Pittsburgh Playhouse and the American Airlines Theater in New York City. She served as Faculty Member’s Thom Cobb, choreographer’s assistant for Slippery Rock University Theater Department’s “Little Shop of Horrors”. She assisted Cobb as a student assist for various specialty classes at SRU.
In the fall of 2007, she performed in Buffalo Contemporary Dance Co-Director Amy Taravella's piece, "Bikini Launch", which was performed in the grand opening show of the Alt Theater and BCD's 2007 Show. As a solo artist, Kuczka-Hawk has performed her piece, "The Not So Desperate Housewife" in Pittsburgh for Laboratory Dance Company's 2007 Black Box Show and Lincoln Park Performing Arts Festival in Western Pennsylvania. As Executive and Artistic Director of e.da.co, she has produced and directed professional shows in Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Western New York and New York City. She has had the opportunity to choreograph Forestville Central School's productions of "Cinderella", "Grease", "42nd Street", "Crazy for You", "Brigadoon", “South Pacific” , “Into the Woods” & "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and Silver Creek High School's production of "Guys & Dolls".
Kuczka -Hawk opened e.da.co's main location in Fredonia in September 2011. She is proud to offer a variety of dance genres and performing arts opportunities for her students and prides herself along with her staff on making sure that no student falls through the cracks. She is proud to foster each student's love of the arts and their growth into young adults. Under her direction, e.da.co has been recognized by dance professionals for it's ability to teach proper dance education and uniqueness and creativity.
In January 2016, Kuczka-Hawk was proud to move e.da.co to a spacious and fabulous new studio space located at 117 Cushing Street, Fredonia.
Associate Director & Senior Director
Bridgette Kurtz grew up in Hamburg, NY. She graduated from Frontier High School in 2009 and moved on to pursue her dream of teaching at SUNY Fredonia. Kurtz received her B.S. in education in 2013 and her M.S. in education in 2015. She is now currently a full time ENL (English as a new language) teacher at Dunkirk Senior High School. Kurtz showed interest in dance at the young age of 2. She has been dancing since then and finished her dance training in 2009 at Performing Arts Dance Academy in Hamburg, NY. Throughout college Kurtz took part in Orchesis Dance Company for several semesters at SUNY Fredonia and took master classes with Eddie Styles from the Jabbawockeez and LA dancer and choreographer Andy Torres at Performing Arts Dance Academy. She has experience in jazz, tap and hip-hop; however, hip-hop has absolutely stolen her heart. Kurtz is entering her ninth season with e.da.co and could not imagine her life without her beautiful dance family.
Non-Executive Director & Senior Faculty
Samantha began dancing at the age of two on Long Island. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, kickline, and pointe at June Claire Dance Center for 15 years. During this time she worked with some of the most prestigious teachers in the industry and teachers from NYC. While training there she was a part of their JC Lynn dance company and the Long Island Ballet Theater. She was honored to perform in professional shows during this time as well.
She then continued her training in dance at the collegiate level and attended the State University of New York at Fredonia. She studied ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap, and attended many guest artist classes in styles such as ballroom, hip hop, and african to name a few. Samantha was fortunate enough to attend the American College Dance Association conference for three years and through this program got to take classes for week long periods in Ohio and Michigan with many guest artists. Samantha also had an intership with the Department of Theater and Dance. Her job was to market the program through social media and help update the department website. Samantha also had many choreographic opportunities during her undergraduate years. Some highlights include participating in the choreographer and composer collaborative concert, presenting a piece at the grand opening of Rockefeller Arts Center, and presenting a choreographic work for her senior piece. She graduated in May of 2018 obtaining her Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Dance and Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Psychology with and interdisciplinary studies minor in Dance Studio Administration.
While completing her undergrad, she was fortunate enough to teach at Eclectic Dance Company as a Senior Faculty Member and Technical Supervisor. During this time Samantha taught a wide variety of styles such as ballet, modern, tap, contemporary, lyrical, pom, kickline/character dance, and dance composition. She taught recital classes, technique classes, solo/duet/trios, private lessons, and competition teams. Her students ranged from ages 2-50 in many class settings. In between teaching and school seasons, she would further her education by taking classes in New York City.
Samantha has graduated from Fredonia with two Bachelor's degrees and is now continuing to spread her love of dance across the country. She is currently employed with multiple Performing Arts schools across Chicago and it surrounding areas. She is so blessed to be able to travel back to New York and work with the children at E. Da. Co !

Holly Burdick has lived in Eden, NY for her entire life. She started dancing at the age of three and has studied a wide range of dance styles including: Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Hip Hop, Breakin', Fusion, Acro, Modern, and Bollywood. She began dancing in Derby, NY and her dance education continues at EPIC Dance Center and Free Soul Dance. During the majority of that journey, she has participated in many local annual competitions with group numbers, solos, and duets.
Burdick has attended numerous dance conventions as well as the 2014 Dance Teacher Summit in New York City. She has been lucky enough to be able to study from world renowned dancers and choreographers such as Bob Rizzo, Luigi, Denise Wall, Desiree Robbins, Ray Leaper, Twyla Tharp, and Dancing with the Star's Tony Devolani.
Burdick graduated with a Public Relations Degree and a minor in Creative Writing from SUNY Fredonia. While attending SUNY Fredonia, she was involved with the student-run company called Orchesis as not only a dancer, but the President for the Executive Board. She was a member of the hip hop team, Envied Xpression. Her writing has been published in SUNY Fredonia’s newspaper "The Leader."
Burdick has performed with The Foxy Diamonds, a professional dance troupe in Buffalo andat the Erie County Fair with EPIC Dance Center and as a solo artist.
Senior Faculty Member & Tumbling/Acro Supervisor
Jennifer Kurtz is from Hamburg, NY and started dancing and tumbling at a young age. She trained with the Hamburg Gymnastics Club and Performing Arts Dane Academy. Kurtz was previously a faculty member at Tumble Bee Gym and is certified by the prestigious USAG (United States of America Gymnastics). She is a registered nurse and has received her degree for Daemen College.
Sandra began her training at age 11 in Jamestown NY, at Academy of dance Arts, under Shirley Kopp form National Ballet of Canada and Ballet Russe De Monte Carlo. Sandra danced in Jamestown Civic Ballet Company, Inc. Founded by Shirley Kopp with opportunity to work with many famous choreographers such as Oleg Briansky in his”Airs and Dances”, fast solo by Andre Eglevsky in “Paquita“ also in the Corp with Eglevsky’s company. She danced in choreography by Diana Jablokova-Vorp, George Tomal, Marilyn Ramsey, Richard Sias, Alexi Romav, Francis Petrelle, Marguerite Duncan and many others. She was offered Scholarships to New Jersey Ballet and Alvin Ailey. She later danced professionally with San Diego Ballet under Keith Martin, Empire State ballet touring upper east coast and Canada, modern companies Pick of the crop Dance, 3’s company (Betsi Roe), San Diego Dance Theatre (Carl Yamamoto), Stage 7 Dance Theatre (Marius Zirra), LA Ballet, Soloist Ballerina for American Festival Ballet touring the midwest and west coast, Soloist for La Jolla Festival Ballet, San Diego Ballet danced in Serenade by Jillana (principal dancer under Balanchine). She settled in San Diego and has been a versatile dancer, teaching, and choreographing all styles of dance for many dance schools, companies, operas, production companies, fashion shows, adult entertainment, and many children’s youth programs, all over San Diego County area for over 20 yrs. Was living in Ocean Beach with her lovely daughter Natalie for 30 years. Since 2013 has been living in Jamestown New York and has worked at Infinity Performing arts taught dances from around the world and dances throughout history. At Studio Dance Conservatory taught Ballet, Jazz and modern classes. Currently teaching Ballet and Creative Dance at Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet.
Sarah is entering her second year on the e.da.co staff and is in charge of the Irish Dance program. She has been an Irish Dancer all her life and has taught for many years.
Faculty Member & Receptionist
Emily Johnson grew up in Kennedy, NY. She graduated from Falconer Central School in 2019 as well as Jamestown Community College with her Associates in Business Administration. At the time she is a junior in the Business Adminstration - Management program at SUNY Fredonia. Since the age of three, Johnson has studied a variety of dance styles, including jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, and pointe. While studying at Expressions Performing Arts Center of Randolph, she worked as a student assistant for jazz, pom, and ballet classes. Johnson also has a great deal of experience in musical theater as she was a member of the Jamestown Junior Guilders for five years. As a member she performed in musicals such as "A Royal Christmas," "Honk Jr.," "The Little Mermaid Jr.," and much more. She looks forward to working with all of the staff and students here at e.da.co
