Executive & Artistic Director
Kathryn Kuczka-Hawk is originally from Perrysburg, NY. She is a graduate of Forestville High School and Performing Arts Dance Academy. Kuczka-Hawk founded e.da.co Eclectic Dance Company in July 2007 after receiving her B.A. in dance and minor in communications from Slippery Rock University. During her time at SRU, she performed and choreographed in Slippery Rock University's Dance Theater and numerous other concerts including Senior Synthesis Concerts, Site Specific Tours, and Informal Showings. She was selected to perform in faculty and guest artist pieces by Melissa Teodoro and Thom Truss. Kuczka-Hawk was awarded the SRU Dance Department's Lucy Issaco Sack Summer Dance Scholarship where she spent two summers training with the Radio City Rockettes. She performed their repertoire at the Pittsburgh Playhouse and the American Airlines Theater in New York City. She served as Faculty Member’s Thom Cobb, choreographer’s assistant for Slippery Rock University Theater Department’s “Little Shop of Horrors”. She assisted Cobb as a student assist for various specialty classes at SRU.
In the fall of 2007, she performed in Buffalo Contemporary Dance Co-Director Amy Taravella's piece, "Bikini Launch", which was performed in the grand opening show of the Alt Theater and BCD's 2007 Show. As a solo artist, Kuczka-Hawk has performed her piece, "The Not So Desperate Housewife" in Pittsburgh for Laboratory Dance Company's 2007 Black Box Show and Lincoln Park Performing Arts Festival in Western Pennsylvania. As Executive and Artistic Director of e.da.co, she has produced and directed professional shows in Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Western New York and New York City. She has had the opportunity to choreograph Forestville Central School's productions of "Cinderella", "Grease", "42nd Street", "Crazy for You", "Brigadoon", “South Pacific” , “Into the Woods” & "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and Silver Creek High School's production of "Guys & Dolls".
Kuczka -Hawk opened e.da.co's main location in Fredonia in September 2011. She is proud to offer a variety of dance genres and performing arts opportunities for her students and prides herself along with her staff on making sure that no student falls through the cracks. She is proud to foster each student's love of the arts and their growth into young adults. Under her direction, e.da.co has been recognized by dance professionals for it's ability to teach proper dance education and uniqueness and creativity.
In January 2016, Kuczka-Hawk was proud to move e.da.co to a spacious and fabulous new studio space located at 117 Cushing Street, Fredonia.
Bridgette Kurtz grew up in Hamburg, NY. She graduated from Frontier High School in 2009 and moved on to pursue her dream of teaching at SUNY Fredonia. Kurtz received her B.S. in education in 2013 and her M.S. in education in 2015. She is now currently a full time ENL (English as a new language) teacher at Dunkirk Senior High School. Kurtz showed interest in dance at the young age of 2. She has been dancing since then and finished her dance training in 2009 at Performing Arts Dance Academy in Hamburg, NY. Throughout college Kurtz took part in Orchesis Dance Company for several semesters at SUNY Fredonia and took master classes with Eddie Styles from the Jabbawockeez and LA dancer and choreographer Andy Torres at Performing Arts Dance Academy. She has experience in jazz, tap and hip-hop; however, hip-hop has absolutely stolen her heart. Kurtz is entering her seventh season with e.da.co and could not imagine her life without her beautiful dance family.
Senior Faculty Member & Tumbling/Acro Supervisor
Jennifer Kurtz is from Hamburg, NY and started dancing and tumbling at a young age. She trained with the Hamburg Gymnastics Club and Performing Arts Dane Academy. Kurtz is a current faculty member at Tumble Bee Gym and is certified by the prestigious USAG (United States of America Gymnastics). She is currently studying to become a registered nurse at Daemen College.
Senior Faculty Member
Holly Burdick has lived in Eden, NY for her entire life. She started dancing at the age of three and has studied a wide range of dance styles including: Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Hip Hop, Breakin', Fusion, Acro, Modern, and Bollywood. She began dancing in Derby, NY and her dance education continues at EPIC Dance Center and Free Soul Dance. During the majority of that journey, she has participated in many local annual competitions with group numbers, solos, and duets.
Burdick has attended numerous dance conventions as well as the 2014 Dance Teacher Summit in New York City. She has been lucky enough to be able to study from world renowned dancers and choreographers such as Bob Rizzo, Luigi, Denise Wall, Desiree Robbins, Ray Leaper, Twyla Tharp, and Dancing with the Star's Tony Devolani.
Burdick now studies Public Relations with a minor in Creative Writing at SUNY Fredonia. At school, she is involved with the student-run company called Orchesis as not only a dancer, but the President for the Executive Board. She is a member of the hip hop team, Envied Xpression. Her writing has been published in SUNY Fredonia’s newspaper "The Leader."
Over the summer, Burdick performs with The Foxy Diamonds, a professional dance troupe in Buffalo, at the Erie County Fair with EPIC Dance Center and as a solo artist.
Elizabeth Reilly is from Long Island, and is currently studying Theatre and Dance Administration at the State University of New York at Fredonia. She serves as the president of the Fredonia State Dance Team. When she is back on Long Island, she studies at Megan's Dance Academy. In addition to dancing, Reilly has also been in many theatrical productions both at East Meadow High School, where she was also Dance Captain, and at Temple Emanu-El of East Meadow. In addition to being featured on stage, Elizabeth has choreographed select numbers for productions such as Once Upon a Mattress, Bye Bye Birdie, Beauty and the Beast and The Pajama Game. Reilly was also honored with the Dance/Choreography Workshop Scholarship from her high school. She is very excited to be working with such wonderful students and an amazing staff here at e.da.co!
Carutis has been a competitive cheerleader for many years and was a member of Megastars, Cheer Stars and Westfield High School Cheerleaders. She is graduate from SUNY Fredonia with her degree in Social Work.
Sarah is entering her second year on the e.da.co staff and is in charge of the Irish Dance program. She has been an Irish Dancer all her life and has taught for many years.
